The traditional design of the City Hall evokes the charm of historic Southern municipal buildings treasured by their communities. The City Hall not only serves as the civic seat of Alpharetta, it also serves as a place for community gathering. The cupola establishes a visual link from the surrounding historical neighborhoods to the City Center. The City Hall is sited on a new City Park, which features a terraced amphitheater and future band shell for concerts, a stream, and plentiful mature trees painstakingly preserved by the design team.
